This is a battle damaged wooden arrow which was used in Mel Gibson's multi Oscar-winning Film. The arrow is severed part way along it’s wooden shaft & includes a feathered fletching with interweaving cord along the nock. The arrow has remnants of dirt from when it was used on location during filming & would have had a blunted head. These varieties of arrow were quicker to produce & safer to use, given the vast quantity required for the film, & are used considerably in the scenes depicting the battle of Stirling Bridge. Some of the battle damaged arrows were left behind after filming & collected by the previous owner who lived near Curragh Plain in County Kildare, where the sequences were filmed. This prop comes beautifully framed with two corresponding stills & a descriptive plaque. Frame measuring 13x17 inches.
