The Shallows (2016) - The Surfing Victim’s (Joseph Salas) Shorts on a Custom Display

These shorts appeared in Director Jaume Collet-Serra’s American Survival Horror Film. The Polyester board shorts include red, white & black stripes with an adjustable drawstring & a ‘Mirage’ Eclipse branded logo on the waist. The shorts were worn by Joseph Salas who played one of the two locals Nancy (Blake Lively) surfs with when she visits the secluded beach. The shorts are seen again in the Film when the Surfer, wearing a helmet with a GoPro, is attacked by the Shark. These scenes were filmed at Lord Howe Island located in New South Wales, Australia, & also at the Village Roadshow Studios on the Gold Coast. The shorts come mounted on a striking custom-built display (22” tall) which incorporates a descriptive plaque & beach-effect base. Accompanies Provenance, having been originally obtained from the Studio’s Asset Manager.
