This is a screen used mechanical wolf head worn in Director Craig Strachan’s British Independent Horror Film shot near Glasgow, Scotland. The appliance has been produced using foam latex over a hardened polycarbonate frame, & has been intricately rendered with SFX detailing & an assemblage of dense hair. At the base of the head are clip fastenings & fixtures where it would have been attached to a body suit worn by a stunt actor. Within the resin frame are various mechanical fixtures for facial movements which would have been controlled using two bowden cables. Some minor production wear is present, mostly surrounding the base of the head attachment, but the appliance remains in overall fine condition. ‘Wild Country’ was first screened at the Cannes Film Festival & at select cinemas in Scotland.
